I don't want it to be his time :(

I got a call this morning from my parents. Dudley was rushed to the vet because he had an infection throughout his body. The vet gave him a couple shots and sent him back home. He's not eating and has lost two pounds, which is a lot for a little dog. I know he's old (13.5!) and that he won't be with us much longer. My dad said he'd call me if anything with him changes.

When I was a kid I knew I wouldn't stay in Chicago and one of my greatest fears was having to leave him behind. I remember talking to him one night about it when I was starting High School and he sat there just looking at me and then curled up next to me and fell asleep with his head next to mine. Karma reminds me a lot of him, actually.

I told my mom that if there ends up being nothing they can do for him and he needs to be put down and I can't make it there that someone is in there with him. I don't want him to have to pass on alone, it would kill me.

I have his picture on the fridge and at the moment, it's just not enough. I'm so scared for my baby.

  1. I'm really sorry to hear this. I can only imagine what it would be like without my Wolfie, so I know how you feel. Hang in there.

  2. Thanks :) He's ok for now, he's eating again, which is awesome. Oh, my dad found another cockatiel. Just flew into some dude's car that he works with, so he's keeping him. Poor baby was starved. They call him Petey, haha.

  4. That one had way too many spelling errors. But I meant to say that birds are kind of scary. Most people don't see it. But I do.

  5. Because they look around randomly and can fly and you never know what they're going to do? They could fly into your hair and go all Hitchcock on you!

  6. "Zigzagging up your face and shit" is the funniest thing I have heard in awhile and I am totally going to use it in a conversation.
