Done for the day me thinks.

Ok, so I scrapped the original skirt idea I had because I came up with a BETTER ONE. Old vintage lace, gypsy fabrics, dark grey wool...got me all excited and now after sewing part of the bottom skirt together I'm stopping before I do this all night.

Poor Nick hasn't seen me all day as I've been held up in the studio (the bedroom, really. But for now it works, LOL) measuring and cutting and going through my stash of goodies to see what else I could possibly come up with for crafties.

It's a sickness I tell you. And there is no cure.

I did however, take a small break to go outside and tend to my little porch garden.

Naturally I was followed by little soft kitty feet.

Who really loves her grass.

Sewing fun!

Made myself a purse from one of the patterns my mother in law gave me. Nick saw it and burst out laughing and said, "It's a Lisa purse!" Not sure he actually wants to be seen out in public with me now, but fuck him. Because indeed, I do love my leopard print.

I also love my Bobby Jack Monkey. How can you not?

I look so stylish in boxers. Oh yes.

I'm quite proud of it actually, as it's the first actual purse I've made by myself and not just a random bag to throw all my shit in.

Plus, I figured out how to sew in the lining properly so you can't see any seams, which is actually really easy once you figure out just what the hell the directions are telling you. Because they assume you know what you're doing and like to skip parts while speaking gibberish.

The bastards.

Oh! Look who I found hanging out on the side of my door!

His name is Goober. Because I said so. And I shit you not, he was almost the size of my hand.

Slimy deliciousness. Yes.

Some reasons I love to garden

Plums!

Lilies that look like sunsets.

Apples growing in bunches.

Cherries, almost ready!

And Blue Boy Button flowers that I planted from seed.

What a gorgeous summer it's been so far. Also, I found this and went crazy. I can use it on the stove?! Are you serious? Nick was all, "And you can use it when you cook meals for holidays, wouldn't it be nice for Samhaaaiiiin...?" And I'm like, dude! Don't make me want it more at $140! You know I can't afford it, so why tempt meeeee.... Wahhhhh...!

Ok, so now a flippin' cauldron I can COOK WITH that I've been looking for for years is at stake here. Universe! I've been doing my part! GIVE ME A JOB. Pronto! Screw bills, I see cool shit in my future!

Also, have a happy fire-boom-crack-bang-cracker! 4th of July. Practical Magic is on tomorrow night, which is a favorite of mine since it was filmed nearby, so that's what I'll be doing. Watching awesomeness with the Mr. and going, I walked past that! It took me two and half hours in the blistering heat to get there! Cause I walked! Because someone didn't want to take the free bus.

You douche.

The adorableness

It just never stops!

I'm going to eat the camera.

We be chillin'.

Plaaayyy!

No more walks, please. I sleep now.

Maggie and I have been watching the Dog Whisperer everyday and I've been following his advice when it comes to Maggie's behavior and oh my god, the man is amazing. This dog now listens to me. And walks along side me when we go out. And waits for her food and only eats when I tell her "Ok".

THIS IS NO LONGER MY DOG. My dog would glance your way when you'd call her and then decide her ass was more interesting. This dog is happy to follow you and be with you at all times. I can now really communicate with her on a proper doggy level and it's so awesome. And my god, she's so much calmer because she's no longer in charge and seems relieved. We thank thee, oh great whisperer of slobbery beings. You are teh awesome.

Also, we have roses!!

And great big cotton candy like flowers!

Sweet!

Being unemployed sucks.

I have issues with being bored. I'm like one of those dogs who shreds the couch to pieces while you're gone. I can't help it, I feel like I'm losing my mind when I have NOTHING TO DO.

The house is pretty much spotless. I could mow the lawn but I'd rather wait to go back out in the sun until I stop peeling like a snake. I bought two romance novels and read them both yesterday. I'm working on a painting but am out of blue paint. Am also working on a fat cat crochet pattern, but running out of yarn. Maggie needs a bath but I'm not in the mood to hold down a squealing dog while getting shampoo all over myself.

Le sigh.

It was in the 80's yesterday and it's in the 50's today. Go figure. My plants are doing really well, my purple roses and chamomile are in their 2nd year and are looking fantastic. I only had a few roses bloom last year, I hope this year will be better. I'm going to have to get a bigger pot soon.

Took these of Karma this morning. No, my blog can never have enough cat pictures. It's enough cute to just make you curl up and die.

She's the cat all my future cats are going to have to live up to. Because there is no cat in the world more adorable than her. The talking, calling out when I call her, the licking of my face, the pudgy belly, the cuddles, and having to be around me all the time even when I go outside and she doesn't run off.

She always makes my days brighter, my kitty does. Even now she's curled up on top of my feet.

What a sweetheart. Whoever dumped her is a world class jackass.

Afternoon Outside

Maggie and Karma spent the afternoon outside with me while I messed with plants for a bit.

Squirrel Toilet

Our fruit trees are starting to produce um...fruit. We have apple trees, cherry trees, plum and apricot trees. The apricots totally look like little fuzzy balls.

Mmmmm....juicy.

And when it was time to go back inside Karma went totally ape shit.

Noooooo.....I dun wanna go inside, ahh! ahhh! ahhhhhhh! Fuck you!

And then ran to the back door and refused to move.

If cats could cry, she would be.

So I finally dragged her in the house where she vented her anger by clawing at Maggie and then hissed at me when I told her to suck it. And then ran off screaming about how it wasn't fair that all the other cats get to be eaten by coyotes and hit by cars and she can't. Cause she's totally missing out on all the fun.

And the whole time Maggie just sat there looking more like a fiber producing farm animal than a dog.

Alpaca-wha?

Nick has tomorrow off, and it's Friday which means date night! Excitement loooooooooms.
